Dave Grohl's Sound City Players supergroup is headed for Texas after signing up to play the upcoming South by Southwest (SXSW) festival.

The Foo Fighters star will take to the stage in Austin on March 14 with pals including Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Nielsen, Rick Springfield, Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine and Slipknot's Corey Taylor. Grohl formed the Sound City Players band to promote his documentary about the California studio where they all recorded landmark albums and singles, and the group has already played in Los Angeles, New York, London and at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The rocker will be a busy man at the annual SXSW festival: He has also agreed to deliver the event's keynote address on the morning of the Sound City Players gig.

Dave Grohl is and has been one of the most talented, genuine musicians around for the last 20 years.  He sings, writes, produces, and plays almost any instrument, unlike so many crap artists out there these days who thrive mostly on ego, branding, and bs.  I loved Nirvana, I love that Dave is still around, that he's still humble and down to earth.  Other so-called 'artists' could take a cue from him.  And it's pretty awesome that he paid homage to Sound City, recognizing that 'Nevermind' made his career.

Nothing but love and respect for Dave Grohl. I didn't like Nirvana that much, but thought he was a skilled drummer. Since then, I have been surprised to find some of the projects that he has lead that most don't talk about. He really is a talented musician, songwriter, and performer, and I respect the years of commitment that he's given to become one. Keep it coming Dave, great work!

Only losers hate Dave Grohl. Also, his hair is fabulous, along with his flat chest. You people are silly.

Wow. So much for people recognizing talent. Go fawn over Justin Bieber.
