Bing: More on Blake Lewis
The Season 6 beat-boxer is poised to release his third album, "Portrait of a Chameleon," under his new label this spring. Republic execs have been behind hit albums by Drake, Florence and the Machine, Alex Clare and Gotye.
Lewis was first signed to Arista Records shortly after he came in second place to "Idol" winner Jordin Sparks in 2007. His debut album, "A.D.D. (Audio Day Dream),' peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, but he was later dropped from the label. He released a second album, "Heartbreak on Vinyl," with independent label Tommy Boy Entertainment, which barely broke the Billboard 200 chart in 2009.
