Back to New Orleans: Beyoncé to perform at Essence

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Beyoncé is coming back to New Orleans and back to the Superdome.

After entertaining a huge television audience in a packed dome during the Super Bowl halftime show, Beyoncé is now scheduled to perform at the Essence Festival.

Festival officials said Monday that she will return to the dome to headline one of three evening concerts during the festival, which is set for the Fourth of July weekend.

Beyoncé joins an Essence musical lineup that also includes Jill Scott, Maxwell, New Edition, Charlie Wilson, Keyshia Cole, LL Cool J, Brandy and others.

To the person who posted about having a "black" only magazine.  Essence was founded when blacks were "not allowed" on the cover of any magazines.  Yes times have changed.  But i dare you look at magazine covers and see how many blacks are on the front page.  Don't hate- Celebrate!

I think Beyonce is a beautiful and talented woman.  I also think she is overexposed in the media.  She is becomming more and more like Kim Kardashian.  Really tired of seeing either of them on every magazine, website or tv show.  Give us a little break please.

another Racist event.."Black Only." Tell me how any event, magazine, awards, colleges that are based on the color of the skin exclusivly is not racist? It is the "pure definition" of racism. I want equality and since Obama like to ban and take away our Constitutional rights..how about shutting all racist businesses and institutions down for Discrimination.
