Celine Dion sings in Mandarin for Chinese New Year

Celine Dion put her language skills to the test by singing in Mandarin during China's annual New Year's Eve variety TV show.

The Canadian singer duetted with Chinese performer Song Zuying at the annual New Year's Eve Concert in Beijing and won rave reviews for singing classic folk song "Jasmine Flower" in the notoriously difficult to learn language.

She later reverted to English by singing her hit "My Heart Will Go On" during the show, which aired on Saturday.

South Korean pop star Psy was also involved in the celebrations and performed his signature "Gangnam Style" dance routine on a rival show.

She is such the definition of class.

Good for her!  My son just spent a year teaching conversational English in China and he picked up Mandarin fairly easily.  When in Rome, do as the Romans do, as they say - unlike here where immigrants don't want to bother learning the language.
