NEW YORK (AP) -- Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio Estefan, are hoping to develop a stage musical about their lives.
The duo announced on Tuesday that they've teamed up with the Nederlander Organization to try to take the show to Broadway.
Says Jimmy Nederlander, president of the Nederlander Organization, "The Estefans' journey of success, led by raw talent and passion, is captivating, as it drove them from relative obscurity to global sensations."
Gloria Estefan has won seven Grammy Awards and has had such hits as "Conga," "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" and "1-2-3." She has also recorded the Oscar-nominated song "Music of My Heart."
