Coldplay's hit "Clocks" has been voted the best song of the last 10 years.
The track topped a poll by British radio station BBC Radio 6 Music to name the
top 100 tracks of the past 10 years, ahead of Arctic Monkeys' "I Bet You Look
Good On The Dance Floor."
Coldplay star Will Champion says of the honor, "This is extraordinary. We've
been listening to 6 Music since it started and I feel like our band's career and
this station have grown up in parallel. This top 10 is amazing - what an amazing
10 years of music... We all said not bad for a song that hasn't got a chorus."
More rock groups make up the rest of the top five - Elbow came in third with
O"ne Day Like This," ahead of "Bloodbuzz Ohio" by The National in fourth place
and The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" at five.
Other songs in the top 10 include The Flaming Lips' "Do You Realize?"and
Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inch Nails track "Hurt."
