Hanson does 'MMMBop' 16 years later

Entertainment Tonight

With the recent boy band revival, most evident in the upcoming Package Tour featuring New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men, it's hard to forget another band that forever lives on in a '90s kid's heart -- Hanson.

But it turns out that some things just get better with age, as evidenced by this amazing version the brothers did of their breakout hit "MMMBop" on Australian radio show Fifi and Jules. The video was posted to Youtube last September, but it's gaining a lot of attention this week thanks to a recent post on BuzzFeed.

Now sung in a lower key (Taylor and Isaac were both just teenagers, and Zac a child, in 1997 when the song came out), the boys actually sound even better than they did 16 years ago.

They wrote this article as if Hanson just recently started making music again....the boy band revival had nothing to do with Hanson performing now, as they NEVER STOPPED performing since their first album came out. UGH!

In response to the Entertainment Tonight writer's comment "the boys actually sound even better than they did 16 years ago," I say, along with all the other die hard and long time Hanson fans, DUH! Listen to any of their past 5 studio albums or any of their many fan club EPs they have produced over the past 15 years and that fact is clearly evident. The truth is, they have always sounded great and shown the mettle of a true American band (which includes playing their own music). You flash-in-the-pan Hollywood followers just quit looking when they weren't in your spotlight anymore. You are missing the most resilient "boy band (gag)" ever.

MMMBop is the song that created many fans for Hanson and they have just became better with age and made more beautiful music then just this one song. Their the band I think of when I think of bands from the late 90's and I've been a fan ever since.

And while it's great that people remember them, there are so many better songs than this one. As a fan since 1997 of them, this is one song I don't like any more.

avatar can not put them in the same genre as New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boys II Men!!!! None of those people play their instruments!!! Hanson does. sound just how I sounded when I was 11. I am now 26 and still a huge Hanson fan.
