The arrogance. The National Anthem, as written by Francis Scott Key is a symbol of American resolve, strength and principle in the face of insurmountable odds. It was written of course to commemorate the Battle at fort Henry during the war of 1812 against the British. The flag endured a midst a berage of British cannon fire for an entire day. Knowing something about Alicia Keys, I am certain that she will likely rewrite it to fit some hazy, liberal idea about "equality" or maybe she'll just be honest and blunt and make it about Barack Obama. Any rewriting of the National Anthem is disrespectful whatever the intention, good or ill. To allow this presumptuous woman to do so is both disgraceful and yet a sign of the times. It is one step forward of the "fundamental transformation of America" by the left. If not for American resolve and strength at key moments in history such as the events at fort Henry in 1812, there would be no America and no equality for Alicia Keys to complain about. Instead, she'd likely never have existed since America is one of the few countries on the planet where a bi-racial musician can be so presumptuous as to attempt to re-write the National Anthem. It is a mobius strip and yet, it is no less stomach turning.

Stick to the original version, the nfl should not allow her to alter the national anthem. No artist on national TV should be allowed to do this, what is outr country coming to
