Sick Zayn Malik walks out of One Direction news conference

WENN

One Direction star Zayn Malik walked out of the band's news conference in Japan on Friday after falling sick.

The boyband stars are currently in Tokyo on a promotional trek and they addressed the media at a junket to announce two extra concerts in Japan as part of their upcoming world tour.

However, Malik, 20, didn't make it to the end of the session: he stood up halfway through and rushed out after reportedly being taken ill.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "He had been rubbing his tummy throughout proceedings, then suddenly, he took a deep breath and dashed off stage because he felt so unwell. The others were all looking around concerned for a while, then Niall checked with management to see if he was OK. They moved up to take his seat away so it didn't look too weird, while Zayn went back to his hotel to recover."

What this story doesn't mention is that he was listening to his own group on his iPod when he became queasy.
