The Rolling Stones raked in a massive $38.4 million in ticket sales from their five comeback concerts last year.

The rock icons performed a handful of star-studded dates as part of their 50 and Counting anniversary tour, with two shows in London, one in New York and two in New Jersey. The shows sold out within minutes of going on sale, and tickets ranging from around $144 to $1,520. The band came under fire for the high prices, but guitarist Ronnie Wood previously justified the price by claiming it was costing the rockers "millions" to set up their stage. According to Billboard.com, the Stones sold a total of 364,864 tickets for the brief run.
The five concerts featured a stellar lineup of guests, with appearances by Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Florence Welch, Mary J. Blige, Lady Gaga, the Black Keys and John Mayer, as well as former bandmates Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
Went to one of the live shows in NJ-and watched the
pay per view show at home a few nights later. Still can't get over the
extraordinary sound system. Great stuff. Expensive-true.
And yes 5 shows x 20,000 capacity equals 100, 000.-not
300.000 plus. Anyone know how many world wide saw the
pay per view at $45 a pop? That's where the serious money is.
Obviously The Stones Can Always Get What They Want.
