R. Kelly writes song for Newtown shooting victims

WENN

R&B star R. Kelly has released a song in tribute to the victims of last month's Connecticut school shooting and vowed to donate the proceeds to the victims' families.

Bing: Celebs speak out on gun control

Gunman Adam Lanza, 20, opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown on December 14, killing 26 people before turning the weapon on himself. The singer was deeply shocked by the death of 20 young children and six adults so he wrote a ballad to express his sadness.

Kelly recorded the song, titled "I Know You're Hurting," with a children's gospel choir and vowed to donate proceeds to those affected by the shooting. The song, which is available via iTunes, features the lyrics: "I know you're hurting/ I hear you crying, but come tomorrow, there's a place you can go/ Find the blue skies/ Hear the choir sing/ Feel the power of a miracle."

R. Kelly has been known to donate money in the past. Who doesn't have a past? Everyone of us has done things that we regret. Hats off to you R. Kelly for donating money to the bereaved families. I pray that more people will do the same. If God can forgive you, who am I not to?

I dont trust the guy. I'm sorry, I dont care who he is how much money he makes or what color his skin is, I dont trust a person who videos himself having sex and urinating on the face of a girl who was obviously underage. Convicted or not, he knew better and that is a charactor flaw that caused me to lose respect for him. Good adult men dont do stupid crsp like that or even get near it.
And I know so many people are going to defend him as they have by saying  "the past is the past",
"It was a good deed", "noone is perfect", "who are you to judge", "you are just trying to make a good deed look bad"
So to answer you I will quote MLK Jr. who said it best
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but BY THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTOR."

"The content of their charactor"...give that some thought. If it is within your charactor to be an adult and do something illegal and stupid convicted or not that says more about you than a nice gesture.

Some of the most evil people throughout history have had their moments of a nice gestures. Hitler probably had one or two in his day, so does that forgive him of his sins?
No, because he is judged in history by the content of his charactor (and his resulting evil doing)
Good for Mr. Kelly for being nice and doing what he did, but sorry, I still think he's a pedophile.

Want to be all the people defending him are black and his fans cause i know nobody else is defending him. He's a sleeze even if he didn't rape that girl and pee on her. Just listen to him music, he's as bad as a rapper.

@ Brooke138 ---> He made a song for the victims. That has nothing to do with his past. You should think before you speak because what you just said made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Just because he may or may not have made bad decisions in his past he is not allowed to be nice? That is the DUMBEST thing I've ever heard in my life. Thought the whole point of making mistakes was to learn from them...
