Lil Wayne touched by soldier's war story

WENN

Lil Wayne has publicly thanked an American solider who credited the rapper's music with saving his life during a near-death experience in Afghanistan.

Lander Chappell, a Private First Class in the American Army, opened up about a horrifying incident in the war zone when he lost a leg in a roadside bomb attack and revealed singing Lil Wayne's track "Tie My Hands" helped him through the ordeal as he waited for rescue.

The hip-hop star has now acknowledged Chappell's story and thanked him for speaking out. In a post on his Twitter.com page, Lil Wayne writes, "PFC Lander Chappell, I've always known that my musik could change lives but I never knew it could save em as well. Thank u."

texasrida1 is everything that is wrong with america.yes it would be nice if wayne did more, but as soon as u throw in the word "DESERVE "   youve lost me. doesnt matter if wayne can do anything for him.to deserve means youve done something in expectation of something else.im sure the soldier who lost his leg is a proud individual and i bet hed love more,i hope he doesnt feel he deserves morewe join and serve our contry for ourselves. not hoping other things.like diana said.u ought to be ashamed of urself

Texasrida1  Wow, as a soldier you should be ashamed to expect monetary compensation.  Lil Wayne didnt even have to acknowledge him, and he did, which i'm sure made that PFC's day.  I doubt he was looking for a paycheck from it.  Oh, and by the way I'm also a soldier.
