Paul McCartney to sing with Nirvana members at Sandy Relief gig

Paul McCartney is set to fill in for Kurt Cobain as the surviving members of Nirvana reunite at the Superstorm Sandy benefit in New York on Wednesday.

Bing: 12-12-12 concert

Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have reportedly enlisted the Beatle to play onstage with them at the Madison Square Garden charity concert. The Fab Four legend reveals Grohl invited him to "jam with some mates," but admits he had no idea he was filling in for Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994. McCartney tells Britain's The Sun, "I didn't really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said, 'Whoa? You guys haven't played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me, 'That's Nirvana. You're Kurt.' I couldn't believe it."

The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, the Who and Eric Clapton are also on the bill for the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief.

Might as well have Mozart mix it with Jay-Z

Wish I wasn't stuck at work all night!!!!!!
So are they going to play Nirvana songs (are their any in their catalogue that would match McCartney's vocal style?), or play Beatles/McCartney songs?  Given the venue, I'd imagine that something like "Hey Jude" "Let it Be"  or "Here Comes the Sun" (yes I know that is a Harrison-written song, but it is the Beatles) would be more appropriate than "Rape Me" or even "Helter Skelter."  "In My Life," would be a great description of the situation, though kind of sad for a lot of people.
...and who who the #&$%^% came up with "Macca"?   Dumbest thing I've ever heard...
I'm not sure if he just dissed Nirvana or it is just an old man who misplaced his glasses
