The Rolling Stones face a $320,000
fine after their historic 50th anniversary concert in London ran 35 minutes
overtime.

The rockers played an electrifying show at the O2 Arena in London for
more than two hours on Sunday, but started half an hour later than planned. The
rockers were set to wrap up their performance at 10:30 p.m., but defied local
council regulations to play encores for the 20,000 cheering fans until 11:05
p.m. The late ending broke a Sunday night curfew laid down by authorities,
meaning the band now faces a hefty fine.
Rolling Stones agent Bernard Doherty tells British newspaper The Sun, "It
means a big fine, but the guys just do their thing. There wasn't a janitor
standing there jangling his keys, saying, 'I want to go home.'" Fellow musicians
Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney were penalized in July when their
microphones were cut off after the Hard Rock Calling concert in London's Hyde
Park ran over.
