A representative for Chris Brown has dismissed reports suggesting the R&B star has canceled a concert in Guyana amid fears of protests from women's rights groups.
Brown was billed to headline a post-Christmas show in the South American country on Dec. 26, but promoters at Hits & Jams Entertainment have claimed that Brown had pulled out of the gig after facing criticism from activists and opposition lawmakers over his 2009 assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The vicious beating on the eve of the Grammy Awards left the "Umbrella" singer bruised and led to charges against Brown and a hard labor community service sentence.
Although the former lovers have since renewed their friendship, promoters suggested locals had made it clear that he would face opposition if he went through with the scheduled show.
However, the singer's spokesperson says his 2009 conviction had nothing to do with the cancelation, telling Eonline.com, "This concert was never confirmed. The promoter is being untruthful."
Brown has sparked rumors of a reconciliation with Rihanna in recent weeks after spending an increasing amount of time together following his split from his model girlfriend Karrueche Tran last month.
Rihanna even jetted to Germany to spend Thanksgiving with the singer, although she has so far denied that they are a couple again.
Good God, she started it, the fight went on for hours and when he wouldn't react she started hitting him. He blew and beat her up. Typical of the ghetto hoochie she is she called the cops and they, like most **** cops, believed her.
He needs to completely get away from her, she's trouble with a capital "T".
