Rap superstar Jay-Z and his rocker pal Chris Martin will welcome the New Year onstage at the Barclays Center in New York.
The "99 Problems" rapper and Martin's band, Coldplay, will play a gig for New Year's Eve revelers at the arena in Jay-Z's native Brooklyn. The hip-hop star launched the new venue in September with eight sold-out concerts.
A statement on Coldplay's website said, "We're pleased to announce that, on Monday, Dec. 31, Coldplay will round off a memorable year by performing a very special co-headline show with Jay-Z at Barclays Center, Brooklyn. This will be the second time in two years that Coldplay has celebrated new year with long-term friend and collaborator Jay-Z, the band having shared the bill with him at a Las Vegas concert in 2010."
