Irish band refuses to open for Chris Brown

Irish hip-hop trio The Original Rudeboys have snubbed an offer to open for R&B star Chris Brown in the U.K. because of his 2009 assault conviction.

And now The Original Rudeboys have turned down the chance to support Brown at his upcoming show at the O2 Arena in their native Dublin on Dec. 3 because they fear the slot will make it seem they condone his bad behavior.

Bing: Chris Brown and Rihanna

Bandmate Sean Walsh tells Irish TV station RTE, "Even though it's a huge opportunity to play in the O2 with a major hip-hop star and a substantial fee was offered, we are completely against Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna. ... In addition, with our latest single "Blue Eyes" being about domestic violence, it goes against everything we are about as a band and supporting Chris Brown would send out the wrong message to our fans."

Brown and Rihanna broke up three years ago after he infamously left her battered and bruised during an argument on the eve of the Grammy Awards. He was charged with assault, placed on probation, and ordered to stay away from his ex until his restraining order was lifted last year.

Fellow antirappites. Typical white people brethren. Shuck and jiveophobes. Woman left battered as bad as Rhianna allegedly was, and this turd gets probation. There are similar cases where, presumably because the drunken attacking hubby allegedly babbled death/kill, among curses, other nonsense, etc., during the assaults.---where the local DA got the Grand Jury (can indict a ham sandwich) to return a half dozen higher felony indictments, with attempted murder topping the list. No other criminal historie s beyond traffic tickets. The murder weapon in one case was a children's plastic play snow shovel, which remained intact, and war confiscated in violation of 4th amendment protections.  All later got plea schmoozed down to the one very lowest charge, with minimal time in the big house, and then some probation, which was discontinued early for exceptional compliance and personal progress in recovery.. The (female) judge even chastised the fat/unattractive/dyky man hating DA at sentencing. Hubbo eventually got sober and rebuilt his professional life, over 10 full years of remarkable efforts. Men, if you get into a drunken brawl with woman, even one with a serious black belt in Korean karate, as happened in one famous case in Maine, chose the jurisdiction for your cowardly crime with care. In the halls of justice, the only justice is in the halls. Some of us men should know. Aaltarboy.

Your race plays a Monopoly game that reads "Go To Jail" all the way around the board.  Don't pick on Mongolians.

I bet the same people talking trash were in full of support of Charlie Sheen during his 20+ years of woman beating.  If I started calling out names of other actors, actresses and musicians I guaranteed you contributed to putting money in their pockets.  I can understand the anger towards CB.  But no else has ever received this much backlash years after the fact.

If the band chooses not to play with him, then so be it.  But they better never ever get caught opening for an artist, listening to the music or hanging out with someone who's been involved with domestic violence.  I respect then standing their ground.  But they need to be the same towards everyone.  Because most of the artist who were talking trash about CB, we came to find out that many of those artist had been associated with someone involved in domestic violence in their past.

Chris Brown don't need them! Love you Chris Brown! He has learned his lesson. Rihanna has forgiven him and others as well. Chris Brown is very talented. They are fools to turn him down.

I don't particularly care for Brown, but I do care about how the rich/famous can commit crimes and just walk away with a slap on the wrist, if that--no consequenses, they just keep on getting richer and more famous. Well this time one of them, CB, has had someone stand up to him and say, what you did was wrong, and we still remember.
