John Cusack and Peter Gabriel have 'Say Anything' moment

Entertainment Tonight

Two decades after starring as the adorable Lloyd Dobler in "Say Anything," John Cusack is still making the ladies swoon. Cusack attempted to recreate his famous boom box scene from the 1989 movie while onstage with Peter Gabriel over the weekend.

Bing: 'Say Anything' sequel?

The audience at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night went wild when the actor hit the stage carrying a huge radio. Gabriel then went on to perform his beloved track "In Your Eyes," the song Cusack's character played for his girlfriend, Diane (Ione Skye), outside her bedroom.

"Say Anything" director Cameron Crowe was also in the audience, and he tweeted: "Peter Gabriel and John Cusack on stage together at the Hollywood Bowl tonight. Won't forget that ... ever." Cusack, 46, responded to the tweet, adding, "And I will never forget Cameron!"

And this is why having the visual with the story in our "age of allatonceness" is horrible.  Anyone else who just read it think Cusack came onstage in full Lloyd Dobler regalia (trenchcoat, Clash t-shirt) and held the radio over his head during the performance?  Looked better in my mind, it did.
