Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster has been denied the chance to face off against
the star in court again after a judge rejected her request for a retrial in
their child custody dispute.
The singer was granted primary custody of the former couple's two sons,
Usher, four, and three-year-old Naviyd, earlier this month after a bitter court
battle with his ex-wife.
Foster, who divorced the Usher in 2009 after two years of marriage, refused
to give up the fight and filed a motion demanding a retrial, claiming the judge
overseeing the case, Superior Court Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane, was biased
because of previous campaign donations made by the singer's lawyer.
However, the judge in Atlanta, Georgia has now denied her request, according to
TMZ.com. The publication reports Judge Lane retorted that the re-election
campaign donations had been public knowledge since 2008 and could not have
factored in the custody case.
