NEW YORK (AP) -- The family of late hip-hop mogul Chris Lighty has asked for a second autopsy after a medical examiner ruled his death in New York last week a suicide.
Forensic pathologist Michael Baden said Wednesday that he performed the second autopsy at the family's request. He says he's awaiting test results.

Baden is paid to give independent opinions on deaths. He has testified in several high-profile cases including the O.J. Simpson trial.
Lighty was found dead in his Bronx apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. The medical examiner ruled it a suicide. But his brother Dave Lighty has indicated that he isn't sure his brother took his own life.

Hip-hop stars including LL Cool J, 50 Cent and Sean "Diddy" Combs attended Lighty's funeral in Manhattan on Wednesday.
You know, it doesn't matter if he were black, white, yellow, brown or painted pink, who the hell cares, he was a human being and that's all that matters. I knew a girl who was shot in the back of the head while living in Florida, she was from very northern CA, and her parents couldn't afford another autopsy and you know that she didn't "kill herself!" The thing of it is, is that as mother's and father's, we all have to question something like that and they may or may not have good reason's for doing this, who knows, perhaps they will get more money if he died accidently or someone killed him. I can't imagine losing my only daughter and knowing her, I would definitely ask for another autopsy, because she would never even think of killing herself. Her best friend comitted suicide and then her youngest cousin comitted suicide a few months later and I was there when she fell to the floor crying.
Just let them do it, without bashing them, they have the money and it isn't as if they are going to cut you open and try to dig aroung. So just 'CHILL OUT' you stupid people. There is always someone who has to complain or make a racist statement or have someone accuse you of being one. You Black folks better watch out, cause it looks like the Mexican's are gaining on you and they are catholic and they belive in having bunches of babies....tsk tsk
It always renews my faith in man kind when I read post where people don't use them to hide behind ignorants and hate and don't let me leave out the racist comments but instead jump on and discuss the issue and how it relates to themselves or a loved one!
I too suffered and still do from depression every since 1998 on and off. I tried twice to check out but both times was bless enough to fight through and realize that isn't how I wanted to leave this eath. It's never an easy thing when your going through depression or any mental illiness for that matter.
The sad thing is you feel like no one understands so you don't talk to anyone really when your going through the storm. I've been through numerous counseling. Several medications and such but going through mental illiness is just like drug abuse. Everyday fought is one more day of recovery! I thank God I am bless and that those weak moments and misjudgments didn't take me up out of here! Everyone needs a support team!!
I like how everything always turns to race. This story is simply about a man who has passed and either has decided take or not take his own life. Maybe he was depressed. Depression isn't racist, depression will take anyone. Depression is a condition, that sometimes money can not buy. So whether or not he commited suicide, frankly isn't our business. Our business should be to think well thoughts for the family in thier time of grief. Shame on some of you for the things you say and think.
I really don't understand why some white people are so filled with hatred and racism. It seems that they have something negative to say about everything that's related to minorities. Could it be that you know deep inside that you are a loser and you need to believe that someone is beneath your pathetic position in life? Then again, it could be just plain old ignorance passed down from previous generations.
