Alexandra Burke apologises after cancelling gay pride gig
British singer Alexandra Burke has apologised to fans after cancelling a gig at a gay pride event just hours before she was due to take to the stage. The Bad Boys star was scheduled to perform at Pride Brighton & Hove 2012 in England on Saturday (01Sep12) along with other acts including DJ Fatboy Slim, but she axed her slot after travelling to the venue and experiencing technical difficulties. A statement from Burke's representative reads, "Alexandra Burke travelled to Brighton today for Pride, but due to technical & production issues on site, she was sadly unable to perform." The singer has now issued an apology to fans who were left disappointed. In a series of posts on her page, she writes, "Hey Guys, due to circumstances out of my control I'm unable to perform at Brighton Pride... So sorry guys... Brighton Pride, I am so sorry to disappoint. I'm really disappointed too. I wasn't taking a fee for the gig... and I really wanted to perform for you all... However the promoter did not meet the production or technical requirements needed to make the show work. It was sadly out of my hands."
