Israel is about to become the third international location for Lollapalooza, the music festival's organizers announced on Saturday night. Lollapalooza Israel will take place in Tel Aviv's Yarkon Park from Aug. 20 through Aug. 22, 2013.

"Lollapalooza began as music's premier traveling festival," festival founder and Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell said in a statement announcing the expansion. "As a musician, I really missed the days when we were on the move. In the last few years we've widened our scope, presenting Lolla to the 'festival generation' around the world. Next stop -- Tel Aviv."

"Israel is an incredibly sophisticated music market," Marc Geiger of Lollapalooza partner WME Entertainment said of the move. "Consumers have a voracious appetite for entertainment, yet there has never been a major music festival.  To me, this combination screams Lollapalooza."

Lollapalooza first launched in 1991 as a farewell tour for Jane's Addiction, before settling down in Chicago's Grant Park in 2005. It began its international expansion in 2011 with a concert in Santiago, Chile. The festival added São Paulo, Brazil to its lineup in April 2012.
