Justin Bieber fan frenzy overwhelms police in Norway

Justin Bieber kicked off the first show of his European tour more than 30 minutes early as part of an effort to ease the concerns of authorities in Oslo, Norway, where an unexpected throng thousands of Bieber fans were said to be overwhelming police. Bieber took the stage at the city's renowned opera house amid reports that authorities were on the verge of declaring a state of emergency.

Hours before the show, as authorities were trying to control the crowd, the "Boyfriend" star responded with a burst of tweets, saying: "NORWAY please listen to the police. I dont want anyone getting hurt. I want everything to go to plan but your safety must come first..."

The performance (aired live on local television) is the first of several "secret" shows the 18-year-old superstar plans to perform across Europe as part of the run-up to the release of his new album, "Believe." The show in Norway, Bieber tweeted, is to be part of his first network TV special, "All Around The World," which will air on NBC on June 21.

The crowd control issues in Oslo come days after Bieber found himself facing potential legal trouble in the United States following a run-in with a paparazzo in Calabasas, Calif.

It's not the first time throngs of Bieber fans have overwhelmed authorities. In 2009, fans at the Roosevelt Mall in Long Island, New York caused a fracas the ended with the police arresting a representative from the young star's record label.

He's a cute kid that has hit the big time, and the combination of his "baby face" looks and teen appealing music is what has soared him to stardom. What's the matter peoiple, are you touched with just a twinge of jealousy??? If you dont like him, dont watch/listen to him. He's certainly not one of my favortites but I give him credit for making the big time.
