Rihanna, Adele & Raphael Saadiq Make 'Time' 100 Most Influential People List

Time has rolled out it's annual roundup of the 100 Most Influential People In The World, and, music-wise, Grammy-dominating diva Adele, chart queen Rihanna and R&B singer/producer Raphael Saadiq all made the cut. The publication notes that its list is made up of the "people who inspire us, entertain us, challenge us and change our world," and brands them as "breakouts, pioneers, moguls, leaders and icons." Catch just why these artists were included, and which of their peers did their write-ups for Time, below.

Famed fashion designer Stella McCartney penned Rihanna's entry, and recalled that the first time she met the " We Found Love" hit-maker, they were both on a dance floor, appropriately enough.

"She's one of the coolest, hottest, most talented, most liked, most listened to, most followed, most impressive artists at work today, but she does it in her own stride," writes McCartney. "She works hard, very hard. She gives to her fans, friends and foundation not just herself but her energy and spirit."

As for Adele, Pink gushes over the "Set Fire To The Rain" singer in Time. "I am so relieved that Adele possesses the kind of beauty that she does, that she's crass and funny and that she sings live -- and incredibly," she notes. "Her success renews hope in me that the world I live in has good taste -- that we still occasionally come back to what's simple, and simply amazing."

Meanwhile, Elton John sings the praises of Raphael Saadiq, who has been on the piano man's radar since Tony! Toni! Toné! burst onto the pop scene in the early '90s.

"... I kept a keen eye on whatever he did, hoping that one day our paths would cross musically. With the release of 'The Way I See It,' I was blown away," John writes in Time. "It became my album of the year -- a soul record of the highest quality. I phoned him to congratulate him and asked if he would consider playing at my annual AIDS Foundation Oscar party. He agreed, and his performance was brilliant."

Music-related personalities who made Time's list last year included Glee's Chris Colfer, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber.

I remember Raphael Saadiq's group Tony Toni Tone' their music was magnificent! Because much of the uncreative side of rap gets the lion's share of the radio time today, I don't know when quality music appears on the scene such as Mr. Saadiq's "The Way I See It". I must buy, thanks!
