Madonna camp calls 'Girls Gone Wild' lawsuit 'laughable'

Idolator

Madonna reportedly did not drop the "s" in "Girls" from the title of her second "MDNA" single, "Girl Gone Wild," because of a legal threat from "Girls Gone Wild" franchise creator Joe Francis. And she apparently has no idea who Joe Francis is. TMZ says Madge's manager, Guy Oseary, relayed to the site that it's "laughable" that Francis felt triumphant after sending a cease-and-desist letter to keep the singer from performing the song at the Super Bowl. A rep for Madonna confirmed the TMZ report to Eonline.

TMZ notes the following:

"As for Madonna changing the name of the song to 'Girl Gone Wild,' Oseary says they've been tweaking the album for weeks, and decided to make the word 'Girl' singular because that's the way Madonna sings it in the song."

The site also says Oseary pointed out that there are various other songs out there with the title "Girls Gone Wild" (as a quick search on iTunes confirms), one of the more prominent being a Ludacris track from 2006's "Release Therapy," which arrived nine years after Francis' first "Girls Gone Wild" film.

Madonna's manager apparently went on to add the ego-damaging info that the "Give Me All Your Luvin'" songstress doesn't even know who Joe Francis is, and is unaware of his legal threats.

Look, Joe, while you were out there making movies about women exposing themselves in public, Madonna had already been living it for years.

she needs to grow up... she doesn't want her own daughter to be exposed to the garbage she promotes en masse... why are older women today so afraid of growing up? ( btw, i am an older woman who is close to Madonna's age) why does she feel the need to compete with women she could be the MOTHER of (not to mention dating BOYS she could be the mother of)? is she not secure enough in her talent and beauty that she feels the need to shock with disgusting and degrading and morally offensive and blasphemous videos? c'mon, people, wake up - she is NOT cool - she is seriously disturbed...  The video is not edgy - it's vulgar and perverted crap - what a waste of talent, time, and money...

Girl used to go wild...now just a tad mild. She is in her 50's, and we all settle down some, I guess.

as a political activist  whose "fighting for what's right" I thought of her purchasing a 35 million dollar home & her brother found homeless under a bridge and realized her time with architects must be important. She did not know Malawi existed prior to being pitched its predicament, I then watched her on Oprah brag about a girls school project, and following the promotional stunt it got dumped because her associates spent the charity money on golf and cars. Never mind Oprah has yet to speak a word of this but has no issues insulting lists of other people, even giving Madonna front stage center at a going away ceremony. You can tell whets really important to them once you remove the poor people cup they dip in and quit believing what they try to sell "you" on national ad spots. I can only imagine how stressful it is for Miss Madonna to rewrite other peoples material bi-annually. And after listening to "Girl Gone Wild" I immediately thought of Cyndi Lauper and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" Lady Gaga performing with Cyndi Lauper and Madonna being jealous then stalking Cyndi "for fun"..............anyway Madonna should never compromise that artistic integrity of hers her adoration for Britney Spears and tireless promotion of such product is truly a cultural revolution in itself, you can tell she cares just by looking at her.
