Shania Twain receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star

After numerous awards (including five Grammys), eight No. 1 hits and an album that became the biggest-selling of all time by a female in any genre (1997's "Come on Over"), Shania Twain can now add a Hollywood Walk of Fame star to her impressive résumé.

The Walk of Fame website announced that Twain will receive her star Thursday outside the W Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard, with actress Bo Derek serving as the guest speaker.

Twain has not been doing much singing lately. She released a memoir, "From This Moment On," last month and appears in the reality show "Why Not? With Shania Twain," which debuted last month on Oprah's OWN network. Last year, she divorced her husband, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, after discovering he had an affair.

In Twain's memoir, she discusses the breakup of her marriage, her childhood poverty, the loss of her parents in a terrible accident and her rise to music superstardom. Twain has said she will "absolutely" sing again.

Bulldog9, you're not just a pig but a troll who has escaped being banned whenever you've made your silly little juvenile remarks.  Start counting your days of being able to post on these boards.

As for Shania Twain, she's been very deserving of this honor for many years. However, like others, until the requirements of getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame are met, nothing can be done. Sometimes it won't happen for years. It's unfortunate.

I'm a bit surprised she is get it when she is barely on the comeback trail.  Why not give it to her when she was at the height of her fame, it would be more relevant.  None the less, good for her.
