Did Beyoncé copy Italian pop star's performance?

Beyoncé's performance of "Run the World (Girls)" at last Sunday's Billboard Music Awards earned her a standing ovation and had fans buzzing, but some are criticizing the singer for copying another performer's routine. Italian pop star Lorella Cuccarini gave a similar performance last year.

Bing: Beyoncé wows at Billboard Music Awards

Both singers performed in front of a screen which featured synchronized graphics and dancers. Beyoncé admits she was aware of Cuccarini's routine, and called it an inspiration.

She tells AOL Music, "My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much. I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius. Thank God for YouTube or I would have never been exposed to something so inspiring. I never worked so hard on anything in my life as that performance for the Billboard Awards."

What do you think? Inspiration or blatant rip-off? Watch the performances side by side and weigh in.

She copied! Inspiration would have been using the same technology with different images, event the timing of the images were the same. She running out of ideas but isn't this said of her husband always copying(stealing) somebody else ****. They are a pair made for each other, lets see who else inspires her next.  I knew about the taking credit for songs she didn't write, but wow routines now. Don't hate B jus come on girl lets be original. Song ideas and music are the same but its true say u were inspired before releasing the video. Terrible song and chicken dance. Guess there be more rolling around on the floor crap performances next.  Anyway all in all B graphics were more up to date and that tiger was sick as hell! Loved that part, which was different than just birds.

She said she was "inspired" by the routine. From looking at the clip of both videos, that statement is accurate. There are similarities yet there are clear differences as well. For those that have posted hateful comments, it is obvious you have been waiting to have something negative to say about her now you feel it is your time. Carry on, bottom line her choreographed routine is an inspiration and not a rip off. For those of you that are accusing her of blatantly ripping off the routine of that other artist, you demonstrate your complete inability to judge someone fairly. I certainly hope you are not call to a jury duty. It is clear to me that you will pass judgement upon an individual based on how you feel and not the facts even when it is clearly presented, smh.

I think if you look at the new videos of Jlo, shaky hip shakira, bouncie and all the rest they are all the same damn video. strut around, jump up and down shake your boobies, and butts, scream while you're doing it and then do some more gyrations and call it music. I find all that distracting from what is supposed to be music. If i wanted to watch a workout video I'd rent one, oh yes and they are all stealing from Janet jackson who began to move of with workout video......or would that be Jane Fonda without singing??? I'm so confused and I HATE Beyonce's new anthem along with Jlo hitting the floor and don't get me started on nolady gag me.
