Kid Rock regrets the stage name he chose for himself now that he has turned 40.

The singer/rapper, who was born Robert Ritchie, selected the name when he was just a teenager, and now realizes he may have made a mistake. It's "the worst name in the world," he tells Esquire.

Adding, "The only person who had a dumber name than me was the Fresh Prince [Will Smith]. Hey, it sounded like a cool rap name when I was 16, but it stuck, and now it's me. I'll be an 88-year-old man [saying], 'Call me the Kid!'"
