Marty ODonnell and Incubus deliver. but theres a bit of repitition here that kind of irks me on the stand alone soundtrack. Its excellent on the game, but just casual iistening is not what these songs were made for. My Favorites were Earth City, and The 1st and 4th movements of the odyssey. Hoobastank and breaking bejamin deliver performances that just dont fit the mood of the GAME OR THE SOUNDTRACK.........What else to say? HALF-LIFE KICKs ASS!!!!! Was this review helpful? But when I thought of the other bands contributing songs to the album I though, Well they shouldnt be bad, its on the Halo 2 Soundtrack FCOL!!, so I shrugged away the issue and thought of the Marty ODonnell pieces, the games music is amazing and I always love the chanting of sad voices. When I bought the album, I fell in love with it. Halo Theme MJOLNIR Mix is an amazing start to the album, 4 minutes of amazing guitar riffs and solos by the one and only Steve Vai. Blow Me Away is an amazing song, but lost its touch after listening to the other songs on the album, and listening to the song itself almost a million times. The Incubus song Follow (First Movement of the Odyssey) got off to a rough start, but it was amazing once it smoothed out in the beginning-middle. All of the Incubus songs are emotional and amazing. It sets the mood for the up and coming Halo 3. Sadness. Death. Loss. Connected was a sht way to end a album like this. It probably wouldve been good in the beginning. Its right after the song Remembrance, which is an amazingly sad song. Connected is an up-beat rock song about staying together pretty much. It didnt go well with the story the other songs were telling.
So Without Further Review, I Promptly Give This CD, a 4.9 outta 5. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Halo 2....Earth CityPosted: 10/22/2005A review of Halo 2 Original Soundtrack and New Music by Spartan_2171 I've heard music, but if you like music that has very little singing, then this disc is for you...It has great music, which in my opinion is the best ever made for a video game, and some of the best ever...(it beats the first halo soundtrack because of Earth City, which is one of the best songs i've ever heard) If you like this disc, which you almost definitely will, you should also strongly consider the origional halo soundtrack, which has a song(the origional mix of the first on the halo 2 soundtrack (halo theme), which is incridible...I strongly recommend you buy this disc Was this review helpful? The music is from the game and has orginal songs as well, which are all very well done and original. In my opinion Breaking Benjamin did the best out of the other songs, but they were all very excellent. This soundtrack complements the game well and is a must buy for any Halo fan.
