It doesn't get any better than this. Songs like "Hot for Teacher", "Panama", and "Jump" highlight what just might be what i think is the best album, well, ever. It's that good, and it doesn't get boring after you listen to it 50 times, it just gets better. The gut busting guitar solos and huge and heavy drum beats combined with the killer singing and awesome base lines make this album one to buy. Van Halen is an unbelievable band and their music is outstanding. The Van Halen brothers, Micheal Anthony and Sammy Hagar definetly made 1984 a year of great music!

First of all this album is Way over-rated. But that don't mean this album is bad. What a great timeless album this one is, along with the origional (in my opinion All of the Dave albums are timeless wonders) there is at least 1 track on here that everybody, and i mean everybody can like. if its jump, or hot for teacher, everybody on the planet at least likes 1 track from this record. I liked the use of the keyboards, and its not like there is no guitars in the keyboarded songs, there are guitar work in those as well. I liked the intro 1984, very cool. This great album deserves to be in everyones music Library.

The decending and defining overtone riff throughout the song Panama, truly displays the mastermind of the great Eddie Van Halen. That line and the entire song as well shows that a simple catchy tune combined with lightning fast fingers of steel makes for a killer, rippin' song. Another great song on the album, Hot For Teacher, takes a funny twisted theme, and turns it into a masterpiece with a lengthly solo that shows Eddie had no limits. GOOD ALBUM!

One of the greatest albums ever. From start (love that keyboard solo 1984) to finish (House of Pain has great guitar playing) it is truly killer with no filler. Too bad it was Dave's last (for now; pray for the original lineup to reunite).

Van Halen Rocks!Being a product of the 80',how could I not like VH. Either with Diamond Dave or Sammy, they were able to put out quality songs and music. Alex VH is probably the most under-rated drummer in the biz.Their chauvinistic attitude actually accents the heavy guitars and hammer-down drum beat.Best song on the 1984 album is by far...Drop Dead Legs! Betty-Boop...

I think this was the turning point. VH got away from their roots and started spewing out commercial fluff (can you say ";Aerosmith";?). Granted, the album is quite good, but not on the same level as I or II (or even Women & Children First). The album appealed to younger folk who went after ";Jump"; and Ed's Michael Jackson solo, and thus garnered a whole new group of fans, who eventually took the whole Van Hagar thing hook, line, and sinker. Glad I got to experience them pre-1984. The best song on the album, ";Panama";, and possibly ";Hot for Teacher"; is the only thing linking the band to songs like ";Running with the Devil"; or ";Everybody Wants Some";. ";1984"; seemed to introduce the band to the Izod genre, much the same way ";Back in Black"; did for AC/DC. For you nostalgia kiddies out there, ask your parents what the first Van Halen album was that they ever bought. If they say ";1984";, run. Fast.

Anyone who likes Van Halen would love this CD. Every song on this CD is just as awesome as the one before. This album is just as cool as the day it came out. Van Halen put out some of the best rock ever and was the best band around. Its sad to say, that era is over.
