Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  Complex musicPosted: 2/16/2009A review of Paper Trail by 12341234269 This album is 'album of the year'.First let me say please 'listen' and not 'hear' what this cat is speaking.This body of work is so complex.Music is far more detailed when written down so please understand what 'papertrail' is about.These are thought out lyrics.The context is the deepest we've possibly ever heard.Please THINK and let this process through your brain prior to you saying I'm crazy.This man has literally put his life all over these beats.REAL life, his very train of thought on why he was buying and carrying guns and the track with JT is unbelievable how he broke down some decisions he had, in real life,faced with.The only other rapper I can think of to express his feelings like TIP was Tupuc.Tupuc like TIP is able to put his heart and passion in a song because these songs are reflections of his life.Most rappers will have a so called deep song maybe like 1 but to me with the exception of soldier rag and porn star each song has some part of real life in it.Regardless of how many albums Luda and lil Wayne sell, TIP is by far the best in the game of course excluding Young Hova even at 40.He's the Jordan of the game and TIP is King James!Let's not even talk about 'flow', multiple all in like 1 song, unbelievable! Now don't get me wrong , I ain't hate'n in da slightest, but real talk, open up ur minds my peeps. YES!!... T.I. did da dam thang on dis album, no doubt his best so far. But if u r sum1 who jus like it cuz its his, or like da bass or catchy choruses or what not, den U HAVE ALL MISSED BA BUS. Dis man done been thru some thangs, life change'n thangs, and he wanted his fans to kno dat he has grown, not only as an artist, but as a man and a human being. He talks about his swag, yea tru, but did u notice how much he has humbled himself? Its not all about 'what he got' on dis album, but what he HAS LEARNED! I 4 1, am a person who listens not only 2 da music but I'm listen'n 2 what is be'n said... word 4 word (if we all did dat den sum of us woodnt b sing'n sum of da stuff we sing'n, REAL TALK!). Listen 2 wats really b'n said & not jus what we wanna hear. Y was 'MY LIFE, UR ENTERTAINMENT', or 'U AIN'T MISS'N NUTHIN' not mentioned n da otha reviews? Deez songs were speak'n on sum real shh.. and personally if u giv'em anutha listen, u mite agree wit me. So hit ur rewind/pevious/whateva buttons and LISTEN UP!! Yes BABY we have. I love everything T.I. does, is and/or is a part of. He has definitely proven to us loyal fans that he is forever here to stay and not to worry Cuz he got it!!!! I love every SONG!!! I was a little disappointed with T.I. vs TIP but that was simply an extension of his creativity. PAPER TRAIL is one of his best works to date. With hard hitters like, "Swagger Like Us" & "Live Your Life", to Come Here girl songs like (that I'm sure us Female Fans look for on every cd) "Whatever U Like" & "Porn Star" and to show his versatility with John Legend's appearance on "Slide Show". AS ALWAYS: My Baby T.I. reigns KING and wears his Crown Proudly with this album boomin' loudly in the Challenger down the streets of ATL. Go 'head T.I. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was this review helpful?
