By far the best songs are motorcycle drive by and the background but I klove them all This is seriously the only cd I have in my car (I have a tape adapter for a cd player) hence I only have room for one cd and this is the one I never get tired of. Was this review helpful? Sign In 2 out of 3 users found this helpful Posted: 5/21/2005A review of Third Eye Blind by butler10 It's a good CD and I can always come back to listening to it. There are many great songs, like Semi-Charmed Life, Graduate, Thanks A Lot, but there is also a lot of filler. From start to finish the CD sort of goes downhill. While the first half gets 5 stars, the second half is lucky to get 2 stars. Overall, I rate this 4 stars. Was this review helpful? These are songs for every mood, every situation: literally a soundtrack for my life. 3eb's first album has been playing at most of the significant events of my life. Our class president even used a Stephan Jenkins quote at graduation. The absolute best song is Motorcycle Driveby. This is one cd that any child of the 90's should NOT be without. I have had it since its release and never get tired of listening to it. I now have my teenage kids hooked and singing the songs around the house. Unlike many of the other reviews, my favorite songs have become those that were less of a commercial success. I highly recommend Motorcycle Drive By, Narcolepsy, The Background and God of Wine. Keep rockin' guys! Was this review helpful? Graduate, Semi charmed Life, and Jumper are the best classical songs of the late 90's to me.They get heavier as they make their new albums.I suggest this album if you like to look back to rock in the late 90's. That sound ROCKS!!!! This CD has many great rock and acoustic type songs that you will love forever. 3EB is an awesome band that never ceases to make great music, like with their new album Out of the Vein which is as good as this one. 3EB if you listen to them will be your new favorite band, trust me. I heard it over at a friends house and i was amazed at how the songs and lyrics just kind of flowed together. I love all of the songs on this album. I am a hard core fan of third eye blind. They write their own music, so pretty much all of these songs are from experiance in life and from the heart. Even though i love all the songs on this album, my top favorite three would have to be ";Narcolepsy";, ";London";, and ";I Want You";. In my opinion those three songs have the most emotion and feeling in them. The rest of the songs are great, they all have their own unique sound and beat. I cant wait for their new album to come out. I recoment this album to any rock-soft rock-punk fan. Was this review helpful? It is the best cd I own, and this is coming from a die-hard Oasis fan. Not only a perfect debut cd, this is the perfect cd. My song by song analysis:
Losing... - A good intro, powerful, guitar driver song that prepares the listener for a roller coaster ride.
Narcolepsy - Never mentioned on the radio or anywhere, deserves far more credit and should have been a single.
Semi-Charmed... - Although it was the huge single, I think there were far better songs on the cd. Maybe because I heard it so much on the FM :)
Jumper - Starts out slow, but I love the guitar solo.
Graduate - Very rough and very loud, but I still love it and I must say it is one of the best on the cd.
Hows... - The reason I bought the cd. Wonderfully crafted, it displays their talent perfectly.
Thanks Alot - Has a very unique sound that caught my ear. I had it on repeat for an entire week once.
Burning Man - Perhaps the least original song on the cd. Kinda slow, it still blends in well with the album.
Good for You - Powerful and magnificent. It is a really great song.
London - Fast, punkish, rapid. Another 'simple and sweet' song.
I Want You - One of the two best on the cd. It has a kind of creepy sound that fits the lyrics perfectly.
The Background - Another song that starts slow, but ends very powerfully. Another song I repeated constatly.
Motercycle... - Another great song. Very rich and varying. Filled with hooks galore.
God of Wine - This is the grand finale. The perfect song to end the perfect cd. It is beautiful, loud and powerful. A true masterpiece.
Perhaps, such perfection explains my slight disappointment in their follow up cd. However, I still look forward to any other cds they might produce. Can they top this masterpiece: perhaps not. But can any other band create such a fine work even once in their musical career? I doubt it. Was this review helpful? Sign In 5 out of 6 users found this helpful Posted: 10/2/2002A review of Third Eye Blind by narcolepticSKYS What can I say I love this album.
