Posted: 11/2/2004A review of Ready to Die by TexAWfan
I would only listen to rap that is GOOD. Unfortunately one of my favorites is no longer alive, RIP Biggie. The Notorious one himself is one not to be screwed with. After listening to the debut album, there is enough cues of a violent background that can strike with the force of africanized bees (Hit one, whole squad assaults in retaliation). This album alone contains most of the radio-blaring songs that people never get tired of. "Gimme the loot" is definitely one of his hardest songs made for the background music and the content. "Warning" is indeed one of the better songs for the lyrical flow that is hard to beat. Also warning had a serious lyrical content that can make "piss in ya pants" a real embarassment to occur upon yourself. The whole album is flowing and full of beats that cannot be beat, even with modern day rappers. If a fan of hardcore Rap and serious lyrical content, I'd recommend All of the Biggie albums for they are all hard, serious without filler. But I'd advised to listen to this album before hunting for his other 2 albums. Once you listen to it, you'll be hooked- I mean it.

This album was the break through for the East coast rap scene, although 94 was the year DeathRow began their reign as an empire, with it's popular old school samples, too his smooth flows on each track, although the story telling was mediocre compared to the likes of PAC, and Nas, and I could name 3 albums that are better, this album holds it's own amoung the classics!

Biggie is the best there was and the best that ever will be. I still cruz it in my 88 Hatchback bumping biggie. Juicy is my favorite biggie song. Sometimes i wonder if biggie was alive biggie will still be on top.

This was Biggie's best album. His lyrical content and the way he put his words were on point. If it wasn't for his lyrics this album wouldn't have been as good, but with his lyric he saves the beats. This album goes in the rap hall of fame.

This album is absolutely a classic. The first time I ever heard this album I was amazed by the lyrical gift B.I.G had. When juicy's single droped in 94' it flooded the airways. At the same time, label mate Craig Mack had a hit out (Flavor in your Ear) Which ran neck to neck with Juicy. But when the full Ready To Die album dropped, It was murder. B.I.G brought the crown back home to the east coast. No one could touch biggie's talent or style. B.I.G had the game locked from 94'to97'. I recommend this cd be a part of ever hip-hop fan's collection. best songs.(Warning) (Juicy) (friend of mine) (Every day struggle).........When listening to this album, please listen to the style, the lyrics and especially the deliverance of the flow. No one can match it, or deny it. That The Notorious B.I.G is definetly the best that ever lived, the best that ever did it and the best that ever lived it...........R.I.P Frank White

WORDS CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE WHOLE BAD BOY FAMILY. WHO EVER HAS COME OUT WITH A NEW RECORD HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOUND OR CREATE THE VIBE THAT BIGGIE HAS! KEEP TRYIN' CAUSE NO ONE CAN HOLD YOU DOWN BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO, DON'T TRY AND TOP B.I.G.!

This was the first, and in my opinion, the best album released by the late, great Notorious B.I.G. All the songs are ridiculously tight and only a few other artists, if any, can touch his flow. If you have not bought this album yet, it is a must have!!!
