This ablum proves to be B.I.G at his prime, though he seems to be at his lyrical best, it should of been composed as a single disc ablum. This proves to be right explaining why the label started selling both disc separately. This album is far from flawless if it were just the first disc it would of been, but when you get past the first 4 tracks on disc 2 you find yourself losing that tempo you once had on the 1st.This album is ranks the same as his first but with better production, I could name 3 albums that are better even so this still remains a hip-hop classic!

The ongoing conflict between fans of Tupac and Biggie aside, "Life After Death" is an amazing rap achievement. This double-disc is packed with more innovative lyrics, bangin' beats, and hip-hop wiazrdry than anything since it's release in 1997. If I had two words to describe this album they would be "hardcore" and "epic".
Don't get me wrong: Biggie had already proved he was in the highest echelon of MC's before this release but, with "Life After Death" he secured his legacy. This, his mainstream breakout album, presaged in many ways the contiuing success of corproate hip-hop in the mainstream. Many MC's still copy his style, his lyrics, and sample his beats from this album today.
There isn't enough room to talk about all 24 tracks here, but my favorites are the quirky ones: "I'm F#@$%n You Tonight" featuring Lil'Kim, "Kick in the Door," which is an excellent narrative of a drug deal/assasination, and my personal favorite "Ten Crack Commandments." Biggie lays out, step-by-step how to sling for anybody willing to listen. He does it all with impeccable timing and amazingly creative lyrics. Ten-step plans were never the same.
Some of the interludes were weak and the second disc is overall the weaker of the two, but either of them could go head to head with just about any LP coming out today. B.I.G. had a gaggle of successful producers and other rappers featured thorughout the album (too many to list). This album, more than anything else, proves why Big is one of the greatest of all-time.
I would definitely reccommend this album to anyone who wants to experience gangsta rap at its best. When I first heard this album, I immediately thought this would become, as it has, a modern hip-hop classic. Biggie puts on a show that will keep you bobbin' your head and repalying this CD again and again.

Once I copped me dis album, I was blown away. Biggie shows us all his lyrical skillz like no one has. ";;Now Who's The Real Dookie? Meanin Who's Really The Shyt";;, now how many artists do you kno dat can say that? Both CD's are excellent work of the Late Great Biggie, now compare both of Biggie's CDs to Jigga's, do you really think Jigga is better? NOT A CHANCE. The only person who could come close to Biggie was 'Pac. I can't mention any highlights in this article, because all of these songs are brillent, only song dat I didn't like was the callabo wit Lil'Kim, besides dat it's a Masterpiece...
