When all goes well in life its hard to relate the expressions of anger and pain. This is what it sounds like. Anger and Pain. SLIPKNOT WIPES THE SLATE CLEAN THEN PROCEDES TO SLICE AND CARVE OUT THEIR OWN WICKED RECIPE. FROM THE FACADE TO THE ROSTER OF THE MUSICIANS TO THE ANGLE AND ANGER OF THE MUSIC THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY PECULIAR VOICE TO BE HEARD IN SLIPKNOT. THE CUMULATIVE AMOUNT OF INVENTION ALONE GETS THE POINT ACROSS THAT THERE IS A MOUNTING RAGE AND DISCORD WEAVED INTO EVERY NOTE. AT TIMES THE BAND FALLS PREY TO SOME HEAVY-METAL CLICHES, NOT THAT IT TAKES AWAY ANYTHING FROM THE FINAL PRODUCT. ON THE ORIGINAL RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT, THE SONG (FRAIL LIMB NURSERY-PURITY) WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THEIR STRONGEST PIECES ON THE ALBUM BEFORE THE BAND WAS LEGALLY CHARGED FOR THE CONTENT AND FORCED TO EXCLUDE IT FROM FUTURE COPIES INSERTING THE TRACK (ME INSIDE) TO COMPENSATE SOMEWHAT . IN RETALIATION AND OUT OF RESPECT FOR THE FANS, SLIPKNOT REGULARLY PERFORM THE BANNED SONG ON TOUR. Was this review helpful? Even if I don't understand every word the Corey is saying, I can connect with the hate that he is expressing.

Agressive metal, shock metal whatever ya want to call it, I call it a disasterpice, then the follow up "Iowa" and "Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses" are amazing also... but they would not be here without the Songs, *Wait and Bleed*, *(Sic)*, and *Surfacing*....so get all the cd's M.F.K.R, SK, Iowa, Vol. 3 and the dolls and stonesour and sure get To My Suprise also but just live maggots and resect the gods of nu-metal Was this review helpful? If your going to get this album, get the digipak. it has songs that are from their early days(not MFKR days, though). Listen to Scissors, eyeless, and wait and bleed. Was this review helpful? Prosthetics makes me paranoid, but all of them otherwise I can relate to. Very vaguely relate to. He showed me pictures, but I wondered what they sounded like. Once I finally got to listen to it, I was completely blown away. Back then I didn't listen to metal much, but I've never heard anything like this before. Fast music, it's heavy, with Corey's voice, which at times are yelling and growling, and other times, insanely fast. It was completely new to me, and if it wasn't for this album, I would've never listened to metal as much as I do now. Great debut from a sic band.
