The second thing about Dusty's music was the incredible arrangements that are totally timeless - true to their time period and the genre.
Shelby Lynne is also a tremendous artist but I am sorry, the first word that comes to mind when I hear this collection is LAZY. There is no energy in her voice, there is no power, no personality and absolutely nothing clever about the arrangements. She sounds like she just rolled out of bed and started to sing.
I know this will not be a popular opinion, but it is my opinion. You can not take an artist like Dusty Springfield and take it down a couple of notches. It's a discredit to her talent.
