Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful  Smart songwriting with cabaret flairPosted: 4/26/2006A review of Soviet Kitsch by watch_out_hollywood_ Regina Spektor draws you in immediately with her heartbreaking account in Ode to Divorce and takes you on a wild ride of ups and downs throughout Soviet Kitsch, the strongest album to come out of the anti-folk scene in recent memory. She combines her amazing gift for songwriting with a singing style reminiscent of somewhere between Fiona Apple and Cat Power. Not to mention her amazing piano skills. Some album highlights being Poor Little Rich Boy, Carbon Monoxide, Us, The Ghost of Corporate Future and Somedays., She is truly a star already. Was this review helpful?
