I play this one over and over sometimes, when the mood is right. It helps. Was this review helpful? Not only is it a sonic masterpiece (as many critics and fans alike will strongly agree) but its music that moves every part of you. Radiohead have managed to become a 21th century Pink Floyd with this album - (its their Dark Side of the Moon for our generation). This was the album they began experimenting on (that would later progress into their fourth and fifth albums, Kid A and Amnesiac) and seeing how far they could push the envelope. They deserve all the praise theyve gotten. Was this review helpful? This album converts you. It holds your hand as you walk into Carousel and tearfully cheers as you renew into oblivion. Even years after its release, OK Computer continues to put us all into a jar and hope that someone remembered to poke air-holes in the lid. The first time you sit in the dark quiet safety of your room and listen to this album you will discover the provocative sounds and layers that slowly form a bond with your darkest thoughts. The journey will resonate with the complexity of your fears and allow you to celebrate in the collaborative comfort of resignation. When the last chime of the bell at 515 resounds, you will be released back to the world to go it on your own. That is why for many of us, the emotional attachment to this album will continue for the rest of our lives. And everytime it tugs at us well silently hope that we all make it somehow... even if we have to pull each other out. Was this review helpful? The other three are "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" by the Chili Peppers, "A rush of Blood to the Head" by Coldplay, and "American Idiot" by Green Day. Was this review helpful? And that's sad. Was this review helpful? Sign In 4 out of 6 users found this helpful Posted: 2/25/2005A review of OK Computer by I_looka_lika_man The first time i lisened to OK COMPUTER I thought it was a good album but not that great. Then i lisened a second time and I was hooked. By far the most mellow, chillen, trippy ass music ever, besides DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. From begining to end this album does not disappoint including such tracks as "Airbag", "Paraniod Android"," Karma Police" and "Electioneering" just to name a few. Totally awsome album!!! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR BAKED OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!!!!! Was this review helpful? okay enough of this, we'll meet again when i have the TIME i have work to do! Was this review helpful? The lyrics, as well as the guitar work are especially memorable. My favorite songs are Paranoid Android, Exit Music(For a Film), and Karma Police. I also like Lucky, as it has my name in it. The first time I heard it, I was thinking: "Why does everyone like this so much? It's pretty average." but then it grew on me. I listened to it over and over again. From the first chord of Airbag to the last xylaphone note on The Tourist, this coherent nonsensiquel moshposh captivates any musical enthusiast. There isn't a way to resist the charm of such songs as Let down or No Surprises, nor can one ignore the humor behind the Bob Dylan rip of Subterranian Homesick Alien, or the allure of the fight song Karma Police (this is what you get when you mess with us). This is the most amazing album of all time, gorgeous from begining to end, with no expendable tracks and overproduction that even Kurt Cobain would have enjoyed hearing, absolutely outstanding. It's a must, must, MUST own for anyone into music. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 7/4/2004A review of OK Computer by Rachel836 I don't even know where to begin with this album. It is probably one of the most brilliant achievements in modern music. The songs range from epic ballads ("Karma Police", "Subterranian Homesick Alien"), political statements ("Paranoid Android"), and sheer beauty ("The Tourist"). Perhaps the most memorable is the eerie spoken-word piece, "Fitter Happier". The last line of the track is this chilling statement: "Fitter. Happier. More productive. A pig, in a cage, on antibiotics." It is lead singer Thom Yorke's way of showing his contempt for mankind and its future. A very bleak future indeed. This album displays Radiohead at its most cryptic, its best. Buy it now. Was this review helpful?
