They have a very unique sound that seperates the m from the rest of the bands. They have to be the most creative bands of the time. Coming up with ways to put their thoughts into sound is amazing. I hate to hear when a founding member of an important rock band dies, it is a great loss!! Do your self a good thing and purchase this album, and listen to it. You wont be let down. Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful the greatest album you will hearPosted: 9/29/2006A review of Dark Side Of The Moon by scoorb1 From start to finish you will hear the best songs ever written,even though thier is just nine songs,well it doesnt really mean how many songs are on the album.it matters how you feel when you listen to the album.It really hits me when i listen to the third song on the album which is time,when you listen to the lyrics of time it makes you feel different then every day.My other favorite song on the album is brain damage,it talks about thier previous singer which is Syd Barret and how he had damage to his brain. David Gilmore is one of my favourite gutarists for a few reasons. I like how he can move his fingers from fret to fret, string to string in a few seconds, its also why his solos are different from other lead guitarists. He can also play a very soothing guitar.
The Album also displays the bands sense of creativity throught all of their sound effects they add in to select songs.
Dark Side of the Moon still holds the record of being number one on the music charts for 700 weeks in a row.
In conclusion, Dark Side of the Moon is another mysterious and brilliant creation by Pink Floyd Was this review helpful? Few times in all my days have I enjoyed an album such as this one. The only one that comes close is another Pink Floyd Album called Wish You Were Here. Dark Side of the Moon is a rite of passage for every teenager since it was first released. It is literally the touchstone that transforms one from being a mindless, Britney Spears, bubblegum rock lovin bag of drool into someone that knows that a true artist is one that can make the instruments themselves speak. That year we would go to parties where that was the only album played the entire night. There were no individual songs, just one incredible technical composition, played over and over again. Everytime you listened, you got something different out of it. Technically a musical masterpiece of course but the lyrics - fantastic imagery. Brilliantly written and masterfully delivered. The songs used to transition for one song to the next. The effect of the artist has been lost. I thought it was only me at first but after it happened over and over I have been let down. No hands down this has to be in your collection of CDs. From the opening song to the last , its the bomb of rock and roll. The music and the lyrics roll into one mind blowing trip of excelence. For any one begining a collection of music or the novice it is a must have. This album is the pinical of excelence no hands down . So if you do not own it go out and buy it , you wont be sorry. Pink Floyd is a band in a league of their own , so for a collectors item this is a must have. You dont have to believe me just read the rest of these reviews and youll see .
