The rest were muddy and not interesting or enjoyable. I paid 9.95 at Target and if I could get my money back I would. Not as good as their older stuff. Was this review helpful? I mean he did catch the perfectionist detail Reznor puts into his work and gives him credit where credit is due but to say that Reznors lyrics are juvenile is plain wrong. What sets this album apart from his others is maturity in his lyrics. Songs like You Know what u Are? and Only deal with coming to grips with two sides of his personality and choosing the less destructive of the two, a far cry from Mr. Self-destruction in The Downward Spiral days. With Teeth (my personal favorite song) is a well crafted song deminstrating the suductivness of addiction. And lets not forget Right Where it Belongs showing us how to look deep within ourselves to see if we are realy who we think we are. These arent words of an urgent teenager trapped inside a 40 year olds body rather of a more humble Trent Reznor. This is an Excellent album with few flaws, it is a little commercial for NIN but still original. I give it 4 stars and is the second best NIN album of all time falling short of being a masterpiece like The Downward Spiral. Was this review helpful? No offense to the author but you have to understand the meaning let the melody course through your body connect with the words on a sub concious level theirs just no substitute for Nine Inch Nails No matter how long it takes for the next album. And Im 18 not 30 ive been listening to this band since I was 10 years old. So to lump everyone in with we have to like what we heard in high school cliche is complete bullshit and I would really appreciate it if people would stop using it. No I cannot tell you the members of the band when their albums were released or any of that trivial crap all I can say is that I understand and can truthfully feel the words thru and thru. If you give each song a chance you might find a distinctive liking than the obvious "The Hand That Feeds". This album starts and ends with soft tunes from "All The Love In The World' to "Right Where It Belongs" and it is one of my favorite ever...GET THIS ALBUM Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 9/5/2005A review of With Teeth [Explicit] by Alpha403 NIN is one of the greatest rock groups ever, making there way above most to the top. there album "Pretty Hate Machine" was the most amazing album ever made. but sadly, that doesnt apply to this one. "With Teeth" was diferent, off beat, and it doesnt realy *($@ you into the music like there previouse albums. Dont get me wrong, this album is good, but it was deffienently a down fall in NIN's album chain. if your a NIN fan, then this cd will apeal to you, but if you just liked some of NIN's famouse songs, then this album wont do it for you. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 8/22/2005A review of With Teeth [Explicit] by Scott487 Congrats to Trent Reznor for putting out another superior album. In a time where mainstream rock rules, Reznor still delivers a compelling, but aggressive, album that is nowhere near like other albums released in 2005. I needn't go into the songs, you should know by now that everything that Reznor does is amazing. Was this review helpful? Sign In 2 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 7/19/2005A review of With Teeth [Explicit] by Eidolon2 I was a fairly late fan of Reznor's music, but when I finally caught up I found something in his music that put him in his own league. Rather than follow the sounds of the bands in the nineties, he acted like the smart kid in class who would sit in the corner and build his own little things.
Not that Reznor is a kid, but he is smart and could well be compared to composers such as Beethoven and Mozart for creating sounds that seem to evoke emotions in it's listeners. 'With Teeth' is still angry and almost like teen angst, but clearly he's grown up a little, but not enough thankfully to dull his very sharp and angry perspective on the world. The album shows more signs of influence from not only industrial metal and pre-90's synth music, but from later Trance and Techno styles as well. This gives it a very angry yet soothing sounds all in all, something missing from a similar leaning Orgy with "Punk Static Paranoia'. All in all, Reznor shows his musical talent by bringing together a collation of tracks that will evoke different feelings to each one, yet make it very addictive to listen to. I never thought it would happen, but I've fallen in love with alead singer, and his album. It's absolutely perfect, and I recommend it to any rock fan. Now, I've been into rock for years now, and hard-core is definitely a plus, so when I heard about this band... Wow. Simply put. Wow. Trent. Marry
me. o.o;............ heh.............. ^_^; I swear that wasn't me. Heck yes it was. He's gorgeous. Major plus. o.o;
Love always,
Pathogen.
Marry meeeeeeeeee! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 8 users found this helpful Posted: 6/20/2005A review of With Teeth [Explicit] by bean1610 So NIN is one of the best bands and ideas in rock music but this album is like going to a massage palor and not getting a "happy ending".
Good music but the vibe is just off. The Hand that Feeds is catchy in a Top 40 kinda way but the rest of the music is not what I remember in the 90's. Not bad music.......just not what I was expecting.
If you are looking for more songs like The Hand that Feeds, you will be sorely missing them. Buy the download and save your money. Was this review helpful? Sign In |
