We're owed that after Eminem and 50. Just what rap fans needed at the time for Summer. He has original material, nice steady, continuous flow, great raping voice unlike the monotone East Coast, tight rhymes with infectious hooks and beats that keep you coming back for more. The best song on here is 'Luven Me' in my opinion because I love a good slow rap song. A verse for Mom, one for Boo, and one for Tha Boyz. Through all that with the beat, song, and hook, you can really feel his words and understand what he's trying to relay. He's that good with words when he tries. The album only gets 4 stars because out of the 17 tracks I can only listen to 5 - 4, 7, 8, 14, & 16. The rest is par or below. Out of those 5 tracks though, I can listen to em over and over. The songs are that good which is why he gets the 4 stars instead of 3. You can just roll down the road while bangin these tunes and get your play on with the ladies. The bass is kickin, and it always sounds like there's a party going on when you've got this in. I don't luv Nelly, but I DO respect him and the fact that he doesn't try to be anything he's not. He knows his audience, knows his talent, and stays true to himself by rapping about good times, b*tches, sex, and St. Louis. He isn't trying to be the newest wanna be thug on the block, and is constantly putting out quality work. He'll be around for awhile, unlike Chingy, and keep coming up with new ways to make us crave the few songs on each album. A great artist will make an album you buy for a few songs, and the songs are that good that you think it was worth the $15. A true artist will not only make great music for the same price, but also make an album you can listen from beginning to end without skipping a song. Too bad Nelly falls in the first category when by his word play and flow, you know he's capable of so much more and could easily land in the second if he really put his heart into it. I don't really care what you're driving, this LP is prime when it comes to tearing up the highway. Lots of great tracks on this one. On this multi-platinum record, Nelly took the rap industry by storm, introducing his St. Louis flavor to the masses. The album produced some major hits, however, to many fans' utter disappointment, the song "Luven Me," which features a great sample (I wish I could obtain the original song for the sample) was excluded. Warren G used a similar sample on 1994's "Super Soul Sis" from the Regulate album, however, Nelly makes much better use of this smooth, laid-back groove (Warren G's version included an annoying synthesizer riff as well as some mediocre female guest rapper). It's title is very approiate becasue now Nelly got errbody adding a double r to errthing. Feel me durty? Well the album was hot. It had some tight tracks. He's defenitly reping for the Lu baby! He make it cool to be country but in a hip hop style. Nelly got like these old school but new school ryhmes. The way he ryhmes is crazy. It's bananas He almost sound commical.
