When i first heard the black parade, i thought it was pretty good, but then i heard this, and was pleasntly suprised! I think it's much better. The album is themed so it tells more of a story...and i like that. It seems sort of theatrical, especially with his voice...which i guess could be a good or a bad thing, depending on your preference. I definately recommend you give it a try, i think you'll grow to like it. If you've never listened to MCR before, you might find the singer's voice odd, but it fits the songs well. i will say that these songs are by no means "happy songs", most (if not all) have something to do with death...so if you're looking for some "happy feel good songs", then this is not the album for you....but if you're just looking for some good music to listen too..DEFINATELY GIVE THIS ALBUM A LISTEN. I also recommend thier earlier album I Brought You My Bullets, Your Brought Me Your Love. Anyways, that's the end of my long review =) OH wait if you're looking for ONE song to get a sample of what this CD is all about, listen to Helena. He said that they need to "get out more" and are negative as well as depressing. I totally agree. I wouldn't stick my foot up any of thier butts because they would enjoy it too much and it wouldn't make them emo anymore and wouldn't want all you people to slit your wrists. When I first heard MCRs Helena I was glued to the song and could not keep me eyes off the TV watching their music video. I thought the band was new because I had never heard of them. So I really didnt quite know what was up or what was in their lyrics. I assumed it was all about death since it was quite obvious in the music video Helena. Boy was I correct, every song reflected upon death and sadness. Well, I ended up buying their CD becuase I was so drawn to their music and their lyrical content. I would def. recommend this CD to all of you, the band is unique and its difficult to explain what it feels like when you listen to their music but I seem to connect to the band and when I hear the music I can picture what he is singing as well as feel that sence of rage and saddness as well as rush. The lead singer, (I belive his name is Gerard) has some touching up to do vocally. Otherwise, I think the image they portray about death and wearing black and make up really makes them diverse and attracts a lot of attention. The first time I heard Helena I loved it, but I didnt run out and buy the CD for a while, when I finall got the time to go out and get it.. I started listening to it and just loved it more then anything. I went through a period of considering suicide after my girlfriend of 2 years left me, but the lyrics got me to thinking, especially Helena.. Not just seven or five but all of the songs are amazing. If you dont have this album you are totally depriving yourself of awesome music.
