This is the best Metallica record ever recoeded thrash meatl at tis finest they are HEAVY METAL. This will never ever be duplicated Slayer came close with Reign In Blood but, they will never be Metallica. 20 years later this still sends chills up my spine...GO BY IT YOU DONT LOVE METAL MUSIC IF YOU DO NOT OWN THIS.........SEEK AND DESTROY ALL POSEURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The heaviest band to come out of the 80s took the heavy metal spotlight in America with their first album. It was going to be called, Metal Up Your Ass, but the lawyers wouldnt let them call it that because they thought it wouldnt sell because of the name. So they named it Kill Em All to tell everyone to kill all the lawyers. Best album of 1983. Was this review helpful? Hit the Lights starts it off INSANELY intesne. The solos are some of the fastest i have ever heard. Even though their other older albums had songs that were just amazing this cd is just straight great riffs and fast playing. Its my favorite Metallica album because of that. Its a good listen all the way through and I like the way James used to sing not all that ARGGGHHHHHHH!!! He has a normal singing and screaming voice. ROCK ON METALLICA Was this review helpful? First we have to talk about dave mustaines contributions to the album. HORSEMAN the solo on that song is &*^*ing amazing maybe the best metallica solo ever. Then thier is the burton solo on Anesthia which i have always been a bit disapointed with i think burton really comes into his own on ride the lightning. It is good, but has its downsides. All of the songs sound very similar other than Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth), which is a long bass solo by the late Cliff Burton. And trust me, that this is a f**ken good album. This is also Cliff Burton's album as i call it, because you can hear him in (Anethesia)-Pulling Teeth, and it sounds great. All the songs are good but Anethesia is probly my best.

It is the first true metal album, in my opinion, and remains one of, if not the most, influential album of its genre of all time. I believe that with the exception of "...And Justice For All" that it is Metallica's best (hence, the second-best metal album ever made), mostly because of the ingenuity and daring Metallica involved in its creation, and the ever-lasting impact that it has held on the genre, and the entire world of music as a whole. It is certainly more important (and simply more interesting and exciting) than Master of Puppets (Metallica's "best" according to most critics), and this is the album, by its nature, that any newcomer to Metallica should start with.
