It is fast, brutal and raw which a lot of Megadeths later albums lack. I heavily recommend this album as it is a classic Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 1/26/2006A review of Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? by AsmodeusDomi A stunning album, in every sense. A landmark of speed metal, from 1986. Up there (and better than, in my opinion) with Slayers Reign In Blood and Metallicas Master Of Puppets.
This album opens with the killer song Wake Up Dead which contains about a dozen different rifts all seemlessly melding into each other. It pounds you down, then kicks you. The Conjuring and Peace Sells alone secure this album as one of the greatest metal albums ever. Good Mourning...Black Friday is an artistic, progressive natured work with intense melody and fantastic guitar work.
A cover of Willie Dixons I Aint Superstitious separates Bad Omen and the closer song My Last Words. Last Words is definitely one of the albums great moments, as Dave Mustaine rants at breakneck speed as the guitars riff constantly underneath. Building the album to its terrifying crescendo, the song (and album in general) will pound you into submission.
A must for any metal fan, this album is a landmark achievement. Five Stars. Was this review helpful? This is not only one the best thrash metal albums, but it's also one of the best metal ablums ever. Get it! Was this review helpful? By far the heaviest album ever put out by this band. showcasing speed and diversity songs such as "The Conjuering and the title track" some this band up in one word... AWESOME!!!!!!!! I liked Peace Sells ... But Who's Buying because it is very heavy yet it incorperated some Jazz elements which made this album sound so good Was this review helpful? I LOVED THIS ALBUM! Good mourning/Black Friday will be the song for these new bands to beat. Countdown to Extinction was up there too. It's too bad that they had to break up over Mustaine's nerve injury. I Really wanted to see what else the band was capable of. Was this review helpful? I believe this album is one of the true pioneering speed metal albums of all time. At the time of its release, British heavy metal ruled the scene. No one could believe that someone could play faster or with more fury than bands such as Maiden and Priest. With all due respect to the two previous bands, Megadeth came on the scene and kicked everyone's ass. This album was their second release and is the one that put them on the map. This is a definite must have album for anyone who enjoys a good head-banging. MEGADETH STILL RULES! R.I.P. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-12 of 12 Per Page |
