the tracks are based on typical manson psychedelic style.good work on the lyrics as being a good description of the disturbed american society,eg,God is in the T.V., were he is talkin about Priests preaching on television.Good musaic all in all and as always the counter-culture against the mainstream is evident.Good trip! Long live Manson..)

This is the best album ever, all the songs are awsome and I think other than The Golden Age Of Grotesque, this is his best album. Other than him being the hottest guy on Earth, he is a very creative man with a very honest mind. By that I meen he speaks what he feels. I hope you like this album to because it's very good. I also hope you buy it one day cause I know you'll love it to! Paige*

This album is one of a kind! Marilyn Manson has detached itself from its original genre and created this great mix of techno style glam, slash, industrial rock that I can't get enough of. Whatever you wish to call it I would highly suggest anyone to give this album a listening to. This is my personal favorite.

This isn't even close to matching Antichrist Superstar. Of course, Manson did a 180 anyway, going from a dark atmospheric metal sound to glammed-out industrial. One of my complaints about this new sound is the drums. Even though I'm a drummer, I don't get turned off by machines automatically. It depends on the sound you're looking for, and I know that Manson's approach for the robotic mechanical sound requires a drum machine. It works, but the sound of the snare just sounds like ass, and the hi-hats are often redundant. The songs themselves spread out further than any project before or since, with the dancy single "the Dope Show," the heavy "Rock Is Dead," the haunting acoustic "Speed Of Pain" and the funky "I Don't Like The Drugs (but the drugs like me)." Lyrically, this is unquestionably a drug album, and it's well-written, given Manson's poetic skills and knowledge of drugs. Despite the fact that there's some really good songs on this disc, there are also a few disappointments. "New Model No. 15," and "I Want To Disappear," are sub-par for Manson's standards, but still listenable. Overall, it's good, but it feels weak as a follow-up to his masterpiece.

Okay then as stated his vocals are indeed wonderful and the lyrics just have such a poetic meaning to them. But also about the band. You don't just ditch your band. Ginger Fish is a great drummer...and no one should %&*^ with MW Gacy...he's great! Him and his keyboard.. Great look for Manson as Well..Omega is so creative and wonderful. Personally I think all of the songs on this CD, are quite enjoyable. Coma White is great to get you through sad times. I don't Like the Drugs is so fun, and the choir combined with his sexy voice is just wonderful! Rock is Dread really pumps your adrenaline, The Dope Show...its like don't be like anyone else and %&*^ that or something. I love this CD so much and, yes John 5 didn't do any of the songs really on this disc, but hot damn is he ever the best guitarist! Vertigo is great...

After the huge cult success of Antichrist Superstar, Marilyn Manson wanted to remove his Antichrist image completely, thus Omega Red, Manson's fourth persona, was born... Shying away from hate and grunge, Manson went for a more David Bowie Esque sound, Glam! Many hardcore Manson fans turned away from him because of this album, he also gained many, as this goes for a more Main Stream approach. Although this is a far cry from everything else Manson has done, it is no Doubt one of his very best albums (coming second only to Holywood). Filled with shrieking metal, hardcore techno and mellow acoustic, this album is very deep, focusing on the issues of Drugs and Suicide, Manson (Or omega red) has hit a high note with this one! Love it or Hate it, a Complex and Fantastic album... Special Note: The success of this album may be acredited partly to the arival of John 5 (New Guitarist).

This is the album that got me to first listen to Manson, and I have to say when I listen to his other things they all sound hollow and pointless compared to this album. This is the only one where his lyrics seem like they are really trying to say something. I wish he would do more albums like this and less of the static that albums like "Anti-christ superstar" are. Thats not to say that the other albums diden't have there moments but all in all they are nothing but noise in comperison. All and all it gets a 4.7

Manson actually takes a pretty good stab at the whole glam, melodic rock scene and what do you know? It sounds really good. I am a fan of all his other work and I must say that it was a good idea to depart from the trademark sound. This album only proves Brian Warner (Manson for all of those who are new) is an excellent businessman (and that statement is backed by his return to the old formula in "Holy Wood"). Those who are new to Manson will need to look at "Antichrist Suprestar" to really appreciate him because this is the only time he will take the melodic scene I garauntee it so don't get to attatched. Over all this an excellent album and proves that Manson is an excellent businessman and can actually sing if he wants to.

Containing hits like "Rock is Dead" (also featured on the Matrix soundtrack), "Coma White", "the Last day on earth", and "Don't like the drugs (but the drugs like me)", Mechanical Animals is surely one of Manson's greatest. It seems softer (can you really call Manson's songs "soft"?") than many other albums. I can't get enough of "the last day on earth" and "Coma White". As many people have pointed out, Yes, Manson did sell out, and yes, he does do this for the shock factor, but if you don't like it, too bad! All in all, Mechanical Animals gets a 4.5 out of 5.

Vocals have lots of promise, but the band *^*#s. Does the drummer only know one song? From one song to the next, the band uses pretty much the same bass line, same rhythm, same sound...and if it weren't for the vocals, all the songs sound pretty much the same -- like a funeral dirge with lots of cymbals crashing. Get a fresh back up band and a fresh new sound to showcase your voice, Marilyn, and pur some new life into your career. PLEEEEZZZZE!
