So she had a lot to prove with this album and she did she ever! I still listen to this album now because almost every song is a hit and touches you in a different way. Like a Prayer featured the title track, Express Yourself, Cherish, Oh Father, Keep it together and Dear Jessie, the latter not one of her biggest hits but still has a great orhestra sound. A must have for any true Madonna fan. Im luvin it! I got it at Ross! LOL! Was this review helpful? A true musical journey. Madonna is in superb form here. Express Yourself is an anthem that can apply to anybody. Like a Prayer, with it's religious undertones is all about love and wanting and the divine power of loving and wanting someone. Every song on the record makes sense. Even the duet with Prince isn't bad. Promise to Try and Oh Father honest and beautiful. Cannot say anything bad about this release. Was this review helpful? Bare not as in plain, but as in true. The title track is just stunning with Madonna's vocals and the choir making most of the music. The video delivered for this song was excellent as well, even though it created good controversy. Also the songs Express Yourself, Till Death Do Us Part, and Keep It Together put a spark to this album. The beautiful and touching Promise to Try and Oh Father just help this album even more and also relate to some of us.The cheery Cherish and Dear Jessie put you in a great and loving mood.Spanish eyes is quite remarkable reminding us of La Isla Bonita. The last track on this album, Act of Contriction, just makes me clap along and dance. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-4 of 4 Per Page |
