Insane breakdowns by the drummer and the guitarists is what caught my attention with this band. The lead singers raspy growling voice is very unique and suits this music to a tee. With the amazing and complicated instrumentals, slugish yet thrashy breakdowns, this is definately an album any heavy metal fan should own. Especially if you are looking for a new take on the metal scene, LOG is very refeshing to listen to. Very American, very metal, very good. Was this review helpful? Listening to this album takes you into a whole new prespective on metal. The insane guitar riffs that are made all the more darker by the evil sounding bass lines, The extremly hard hitting drums, which amaze me to no end with the intricate double bass kicks and symbol combonations, then all of these great attributes are tied together ith some of the best vocals i have heard by non other than randy blythe, who along with the rest of the band produce not only great music but a stage presence and band reputation that strikes fear into the heart of those who oppose metal and lamb of god alike. overall this album is a good buy for anyone who like their music fast, dark, and non-stop hardcore. LOG have done it again and hopefully will continue to do it in the future.
Keep it metal

Lamb of God is a extremely skilled group of musicians and this is represented very strongly with this album. With a large mix of scorching rythmns and skilled solos, the guitar work is techincal while still being melodious and "nice" to listen to, unlike some bands these days that just blow your brains out with riffs that are so intense that you can't even enjoy it. The drums, of course, are wonderfully balanced. Not too much double bass or snare, but still keeping it fast. The lyrics are also meaningful and complex, full of political innuendos and punches at modern society. This will be an album to remember... and I can't wait till their next album comes out. Every songs rocks with an intensity rarely seen in todays nu-metal music. Crisp clean clear production make this thing hit down to the depths of your body. Political to the bone, hard as hell, @sskicking music to beat someone down to. Was this review helpful? Their vocals are loud, their guitar is creative and a blast to play yourself, and their drums are complicated. Ashes of the Wake is sure to not dissapoint anyone who buys it. I bought it myself a few months ago, and I still constantly listen to it today.
So if you like loud, handbanging metal, you should pick up Ashes of the Wake. Was this review helpful? I cant get enough ive been listening to this album for about a week straight. LOG's last album was good but this one is way better. Production wise and it sounds like the bands chops have improved too. The best heavy metal album that I can think of in a long time! Its about time someone came out that can crank out the riffs!
