I hadn't heard anything from it, or heard anything about it. I still remember how shocked I was when I put the CD on. The first song, Right Now, froze me in place with its hardcore guitar and screamo. As the album progressed, I was both scared and enthralled. Now, I have had the album for a couple of years and it still catches me off guard when I put it on. Now, I am not putting the album down, oh no, I am praising it. It is just so different from Issues and Untouchables that it is hard to imagine that only a year separated this from Untouchables. Now, I am a hardcore metal-head, but this album scares me. Jonathan Davis's raging and singing is beyond all that I thought was KoRn. I love the album, and my favorite song is track three, Counting On Me, and it is just beautiful, a work of pure genious. The hardcore, heart pounding, skull breaking guitar and singing, this album blows others away with ease! I can't see why people slam this album left and right. It is just so awesome! But when I heard that Jonathan Davis and Monkey left the band and got baptised, I though that their career as Korn was over. I await their return with an open ear and mind, and I hope that Greatest Hits Volume One isn't their last. Was this review helpful? Six albums and almost 11 years later they reproduced Alive from that hard hitting metal track to a more subtle sounding tone. the lyrics were kept the same but most of the song was hacked.
