The song lyrics are touching and memorable, and Josh Groban performs the Italian, Spanish, and French pieces as though he spoke the languages himself. I saw Josh in concert in Evansville, IN.......WOW is all I could say. A fantastic experience.

Sign In 5 out of 5 users found this helpful the new doctor of lovePosted: 9/28/2004A review of Closer by MATTEOSGIRLpavlena for those of you who are first time listeners. i highly recomend "closer" by josh groban. he is talented , you would not believe the artistry of josh groban . and do not be fooled by his age , this young man is a seasoned musician, who co wrote songs on this album. has worked with the finest artist to date. and thanks to DAVID FOSTER, the hottest producer , who actually discovered josh. thru a local vocal coach. josh has performed with celine dion, lara fabian , barbara streisand, and worked on broadway. in the play "chess". sang for the" pope". not bad for a 23 year old. and is shortly begining a world tour, if you have the chance let his many talents amaze you. he also is a great drummer, and play's the keyboard and piano. in many articles he is classified a classical artist, major misconception. he is a classicly trained , but an innovator of sounds, blending world music, with classical songs. and is very influenced by today's pop genre. once you here "closer " you will want to hear everything else . so get ready for a most amazeing expierience . he is also really down to earth. who takes time to say hello, meet his fans, speak to the them on a regular basis. at his official website. i also recomend you pay a visit there. his fans are called " grobanites" because they are dedicated to his music , just as he is. a visit to the message board you will receive a warm welcome, and any info you need to know. signed pavlena . aka gg grobanite. The first time i heard this Album i fell in love with it. Even after listening to it more than 100 times, it still had that amazing and beauiful effect of making it seem like he was singing to me and for me. The album gives a wonderful mixture of sad romance, happy romance, and up lifting music. It always leaves me wanting more. I can't believe that someone so young could have such a powerful voice. What's weird is that my all time favorite song is in a diferent language, even though I can't comprehend what he is saying but it is still breathtaking. He is the only singer I think, who puts emotion in his work and makes you feel happy or sad. I think whoever gets this cd will be in for a thrill, and will be awed by his work. My brother is going to be gone for two year on a mission for our church and we're not going to get to see him. I love my big brother with all of my heart and I'm really going to miss him. When I heard the song "You Raise Me UP" for the first time, it made me really think of him. He's always been there for me, so when he does have to leave, I'm going to tell just how much he's really "raised me up" throughout my life and how much I love him and that I'm going to miss him. Josh Groban's albumns have really given me the courage to do this and I hope he'll keep on touching the lives of millions around the world. Was this review helpful? I watched his PBS special over and over just to hear this magnificent voice. Every song on the album Closer is beautiful. His unique voice brings romance to every note and chord.
