It is simplictic to the ear and yet its effect upon the indvidual is profound. If you want an easy listen that is able to uplift you, take a listen to John i was a skeptic at first,but he is truly good, on his way to be deemed a great.

This wasn't the campy and upbeat looking John Mayer whose Room For Squares album I had played countless times on my car stereo. Sure enough, the music seemed drawn out and strained. Even melancholy. This wasn't the reason I liked JM, so I proceeded to ignore the album. Several months later I just listened to the tracks for what they were, without comparing them to Real World or Your Body Is A Wonderland, and after a few listens it dawned on me that this was actually pretty awesome music. I began playing it about as repetitively as I had the first album, in fact. This guy must have been totally manipulated by his label and producer on that first release...I can't wait for number 3! The songs on this album are no different. The music is layered and a bit complex for the average listener, like me. Its not always catchy, but it is additive after a couple listens. I have just purchased this CD, as I have heard the songs, the voice, and the artful strumming of John's guitar, the man can play and sing as well. John is absolutely versatile and unique and his voice is very soothing.
My favorite songs on this album are: Bigger Than My Body, Clarity, Split Screen Sadness, and Daughters, all of these songs say something wonderful to me, John Mayer is awesome! Keep playing and singing John and I will keep buying your music.

Compared to Room For Squares,although it doesn't have such popular songs like Your Body Is A Wonderland,all the songs are very peaceful.Especially when you listen to it at night,it'll touch deeply into your heart...
